Born in Camden, NSW, Australia, 1961. I have lived in various places in NSW and New Zealand and hope to spend some time in Canada and Europe before I die. As I write this at the age of 60 my life to date has expanded from a traditional 1960's protestant Christian upbringing to explore Buddhist, New Age, vegetarian, gay and atheist viewpoints. Today I describe myself as a vegan humanist supportive of the ideals of The Enlightenment: I value freedom of thought & expression, compassion, truth, reason, honesty, cooperation and a general respect, as far as practical, for all forms of life (particularly those likely to have some form of self awareness).
From the pages on this website it can be noted that I also embrace transnational values (Esperanto in many painting titles), and I have a keen interest in weather, trees, horticulture, photography and all things science fiction (long term "Star Trek" fan). I like to avoid stress and maximize my personal freedom so after a taste of university my work history has been varied: horticultural labourer, gardener, illustrator, cleaner, masseur, and sauna/social club owner/manager. Fine art has long been a means for both philosophical communication and income, though like most artists I've had to seriously compromise my ideals to get the income so while science fiction is my greatest inspiration, most of my artistic output is traditional landscape, botanical and architectural painting. In 2021 I am seeking a project partner to advance the arboretum project at Twizel and help me finance a residence there. This could take the form of a green term investment for a negotiable period or a more active partnership with a view to shared occupancy of the property. A half share investment in the current value of the land will be needed. 19 Feb 2021. |
